Total lunar eclipse of 27 July 2018

Luna and Marte will be the protagonists of a close encounter where the Moon will first be dyed red and then will result in a total eclipse. The night sky will be illuminated by two “fireballs”: the Red Planet, in fact, will be in opposition to the Sun reaching the maximum visibility flanked by the Moon, also red due to the shadow created by the total eclipse . The two fireballs that will remain visible in the summer sky for more than an hour. At 11.30pm the total eclipse will begin, which will end at 01.13 on the 28th of July. From that moment until 02.19 the eclipse will return to be partial because slowly the Moon will come out from the shadow of the Earth.
